Dr. Melanie Van Soeren
Dr. Melanie van Soeren was born right here at St. Paul’s Hospital and was raised in beautiful BC. Her medical education took her from coast to coast to coast in Canada; She is an alum of UBC medical school’s Island Medical Program, and she completed her residency at Memorial University of Newfoundland in the Nunafam program, spending time providing care and delivering babies in St. John’s, Iqaluit, and Labrador. She has been working as a Family Physician and Pregnancy and Newborn care provider in Vancouver since 2020. In addition to her work with SPMC she also has a general family practice at Kilala Lelum, and works with the St. Paul’s Perinatal Substance Use team. When not at work she can be found doing triathlons, as well as canoeing or trail running with her partner and their husky-collie mix, Fogo.
